Kansas City's embattled left guard, Brian Waters, was with the team as it arrived Thursday in River Falls, Wis., for training camp.
Waters skipped all of the team's optional offseason workouts but attended the mandatory three-day minicamp. He reportedly had a spat with first-year coach Todd Haley and then requested to be traded or released.
Waters didn't speak to reporters Thursday.

I dont take the Star but if you look at the picture in todays paper in sports and there are only two white guys - and check there draft picks. I dont think its an coincedince that the only draft pick the Cheifs havent signed isnt white or Mexican - neither is PeeHolee or the not black coach. If they were, theyd probaly be Racaily Profilled like the proffesor who drank beer with a policeman in Washington. Thats probaly why Jasen Wittlock doesnt write in the Red Zone any more.

"He reportedly had a spat"... are you the Chiefs beat reporter that reported that Waters had a spat with coach Haley? You broke this story right? Are you the one that constantly made it a point to say that Waters was unhappy and wanted out of KC?
It now sounds like you are questioning yourself and are starting to wonder if the Waters/Haley/Pioli "spat" ever really happened.

I think this means that there was a report of a "spat" between the two parties. That certainly does not sound like he is "questioning" himself. Simpley saying, "according to a report THIS thing happened...". Was there a report of a "spat", yes. So the statment is accurate.
And while we're on the subject, what the heck was BW going to do exactly? Hold out? Well, he's under contract so he would be fined. I love this, the player under contract has ZERO leverage to force the ownership of his team to do anything; unless your name is Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or other major QB. He had to report or would be fined. Sure, go ahead, stomp around, make some noise, "demand" to be traded...end of the day you still have to show up to work or you don't get paid. 'nuff said.

You missed the point of the post while scurrying to provide an English lesson. Reportedly there was a spat but no proof. No sound bites, nothing. No evidence, just conjecture and the imagination of KC Chiefs beat reporters. My point, it would be nice to get that evidence, that sound bite and put this rumor to rest. Something about an upset Waters appears in almost every article Babb, Whitlock, and Tiecher write.

Waters speaks to Whitlock and is his best(only) Chief souurce. Since Waters doesn't have an agent, any stuff that Whitlock talks about involving Waters is accurate and comes right from Waters.
