You're ability to regurgitate the list of free agents is really unparalleled - you must be very proud. Why the hell Hunt brought Pioli in as GM when he could have tabbed you for the job is a complete mystery. Pioli will undoubtedly consult your officially sanctioned FA list before making any moves.

If the Chiefs finalize the move to the 3-4, then sea of redneck is probably right that we'll get at least a new DE or two from that list. We're not going to a 3-4 with the undersized guys that we currently have.

Dockey (OG) was just cut by Buffalo and would be a great pickup.

And everyone needs to stop thinking that Pioli's only going after young FAs and draft picks. The Pats have a very long history of signing older vets to cheaper contracts. Signing guys like Matt Birk, Derrick Brooks, Mike Peterson, Joey Galloway, etc. are not unlikely. Everyone forgets that 11 of 22 starters on the 2001 Pats were FAs.

Canty and Olshansky would be phenomanal pickups for our 3-4 DEs, I think, and neither would break the bank. I like Jason Brown very, very much to be our starting C or RG.

I'm always wary of Ravens defensive players, like Scott, as they don't do very well on teams except the Ravens. Evans and A. Smith are slightly too small to be a 3-4 DE in the Pioli mold.

Also, we're not getting Haynesworth (too pricy) or Vilma (won't fit the 3-4 and loves the Saints).

Lets dream and say Pioli signed Jason Brown and Canty and were going 3-4, we draft Curry, Clint Sintim and Phil Loadholt. It would be Canty, Dorsey, Hali with Johnson, Thomas, Curry and Sintim for our front seven. The O-line would be Alberts, Waters, Brown, Niswanger and Loadholt.

That defensive line would be killed. Canty would be double teamed, and Hali and Dorsey would be blown off the line 99% of the time.

Are you kidding me? Sounds like a recipe back home. No I don't work in a Convenience store or sell funky name gasoline.

Take an offensive lineman, tradeup next year (if need be).

Leave the Curry out of the pot. Build for an enormous offensive line. Then go Quarterback. If Thigpen sucks - - oh well. No one had a chance under Edwards. He was a philospher in his own mind - - not a motivator.

If you guys and gals want to play armchair - -trade all you want. The fact is Pioli and Haley aren't here to win on a computer.

I agree that Curry looks like the best value at #3. He may be the best value at #1 for that matter.

I think we need a plan for trading the #3 pick if Curry is gone.

Stafford seems like a reach, and I do not see him rising right now as a prospect. I admit that could change, but I would like to see a guy that can come in and play 16 games at the #3 spot. I don't see any except Curry that make sense to me as a high value pick. Besides, I suspect that other teams with bigger left tackle needs than us would be willing to move up and we could gain some picks.

No one is trading up to the three-spot.

I know what you're thinking: "But it could happen if . . ." But it won't. It isn't happening.

We are picking Monroe, Curry, J. Smith, or Stafford at 3, depending on what the Rams and Lions do. I think Monroe drops to 3 and we scoop him up to bookend Albert (who'd be moved to RT) for the next decade.

So we don't take a total loss I say we trade Brody to whoever has the very last pick in this year's draft. That way we can get what he is worth. Oh no, will that hurt his feelings? No more than he hurt mine!

If Brody got Traded he might hurt himself on the way to his new team and be out for the season. That guy is a bust and should just bang his hot wife. He might hurt himself doing that to.

No way the Chief's make the third pick. They trade down for more picks because free agency sucks this year. Too many players franchised! We supposedly don't even have all the coaches in place yet. I think if Curry goes to Detroit and Jason Smith goes to St. Louis then our pick comes down to Stafford or Brian Orakpo. Whoever the top rated OT is should get some consideration as well but I really think that Orakpo would have to be the pick. Of course we have a couple months of free agency and pro days until draft but that's the way I'm seeing it as of today.

The NFL is going spread offense, not every team but most, the Chiefs are ahead of the ball game with Thigpen. What you are calling a "normal" offense is a proset offense, that's the offense on it's way out. If Curry isn't there we take Monroe, simple. Depending how things go in the draft and free agency we might have our pick of Robinson(best gaurd), Mack(best center), Sintim, Brace, Mattews.

The top three free agents for the Chiefs would be Jason Brown, Jonathan Vilma and Cris Canty. With 50 million in cap we get one of these guys or consider Pioli is a loser. Then you pair that with one of the next level, Bart Scott, Antonio Smith(ARI.), Igor Olshansky. Again with 50 million in cap space it should be no problem and it's not morgaging our future, these are young core players that you build your future around.

The guy doesn't throw a ton of money at big names just beause it's there - you might as well get used to that.

If we were 20 million under cap it would be different, we wouldn't even consider Jason Brown(26 yrs), Vilma(27 yrs) or Canty(26 yrs) but were 50 million under. You're a complete bonehead to not want one of these young players to help build this team around. They have experience to help our young guys and they are still in their prime and none of them are head cases like LJ or his kind. Look at Daniel Snyder, zero cap space and he might sign Haynesworth to a mega deal, now thats mortgaging your future you idiot. If you had an open mind maybe you could see the difference.

Given the lack of talent on our LB corps, we could do a whole lot worse than signing Brooks to a one-year deal.

Despite everyone's delusions otherwise, we're not going to be able to draft our way out of our problems, or to just pick up every great young FA. Signing older vets to relatively cheap contracts is the only way we're presenting a NFL worthy team in 2009.

You don't have any idea what you are talking about so I suggest you simply stop talking.

Stafford was the best QB coming out of highschool and the best coming out of college. The QB's coming out next year are all spread QB's and Stafford and Sanchez are both pro-style quarterbacks. That is why they are rated high and you add arm strength, leadership, size and athleticism to that mix.

And yes, Stafford IS that good. He may not be worth a number one in some people's eyes but there isn't one mock draft in the country that wouldn't put both these guys in the first round.

Stafford fails under pressure of the big game and can't handle pressure, as scouts have put out. They are 1st round picks this year because NEXT year they would have been 3rd rounders behind the better talent coming out. The record for 1 year starters coming out after their junior year has not been that great. The point was better options will be there next year if Thigpen and Quinn fail. Read the scouting reports on them on NFL.com, a little more informative than a mock draft.

Dudes..... Does anyone besides Chiefs63 remember that VIlma was run out of town for his innability to play in the 3-4 and his personal hatred for that scheme a few years ago in New York? It is obvious that he WOULDNT fit well in our scheme if and when it becomes said 3-4. I would love to see haynsworth on our team for Madden purposes :)but everything in my body says that he will get his check and just be a bust for us because he is a lazy competator. I'm totally fine with Bart Scott and i wouldnt be opposed to trading Larry and a 2nd round pick for Cassel even though i am a fan of thiggy's. New England's Blue print has always been draft, draft, draft and the occasional, occasional free agent to help with their young draft picks. Curry has to be the pick here its a no brainer. He's by far the saftest pick and you can't bank on a "franchise" quarterback in Sanchez or Stafford. If Curry is gone trade down and get more picks. This rebuilding process has to start from the draft and it's not gonna happen over night. We have to give this a couple years before we're back in contention and I'm sorry wasting a top 3 pick on the next Ryan Leaf isn't going to be the answer. Go safe and take Curry. He's an instant starter and possible defensive rookie of the year. As far as free agents just look at the crop of guys available this year. The only one's worth even considering is Bart Scott and T. J whosyourmomma.. Everyone one else isn't worth the money and just because we have $50 Million in cap space doesn't mean we need to run out and blow it on players that once they get paid get lazy and don't produce. Didn't we learn our lesson with LJ?? Bottom line here is bring in some solid free agents with experience and that can help the young guys get better. We don't need anymore Donnie Edwards, Demario Williams and Shawn Barber signings in KC!!

...and Stafford is there you have to take Stafford. He's a more solid gamble than both Matt Ryan and Flacco.

He has a monster arm, can play both the spread (won state playing the spread in high school) and pro-style. He's extremely durable, athletic, smart and is a winner.

The only knock on him is consistency and that can be coached.

Besides to trade down you have to have somebody who wants to trade up. I'll tell you who is a gamble to be your franchise quarterback: Tyler Thigpen.

Now THAT'S a gamble. Do you want to wait another two years for him to learn how to take snaps under center? Do you REMEMBER how bad he was before the Chiefs went to the spread?
