Former Tennessee general manager Floyd Reese told me last night that he would be interested in replacing his friend Carl Peterson as the Chiefs GM.

"Who wouldn't?" Reese said. "It's a great job."

Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said yesterday he'll target an executive who understands rebuilding. Reese does understand it, although he was a casualty of Tennessee's youth movement in 2006, when Reese was let go after 13 seasons as the Titans GM.

His time with Tennessee and its previous entity, the Houston Oilers, included a Super Bowl appearance and four playoff appearances.
