The offseason is approaching, and that's when changes are made and jobs are lost. Well, nowadays owners and GMs don't always wait until a season ends to send a coach on his way to become the fair-catch instructor at the Omaha Academy for the Bowlegged.

Chiefs coach Herm Edwards has been mentioned most of this season as a candidate for an involuntary buyout, and winning two games this season won't help his odds (I happen to think Edwards is safe this year, as the Arrowhead brass knew what they were getting into with this rebuilding/demolition project).

Still, it's fun to see how the professionals see things. The oddsmakers at BetOnline.com think four coaches' seats are hotter than Edwards', but according to them, Herm shouldn't yet be planning next year's training camp itinerary.

Below the Web site's odds is how I would rank the following coaches' likelihood of being fired between now and February.

From BetOnline:

Marvin Lewis 7-to-2
Jack Del Rio 4-to-1
Rod Marinelli 4-to-1
Mike Singletary 5-to-1
Herm Edwards 7-to-1
Romeo Crennell 8-to-1
Wade Phillips 8-to-1
Norv Turner 12-to-1
Andy Reid 12-to-1
Gary Kubiak 15-to-1

4. Romeo Crennell
