The Buffalo Bills hung 54 points on the Chiefs last week at Arrowhead.
This week, at home against lowly San Francisco, the Bills scored 3. I know Trent Edwards got hurt during the game, but puhleeze, 3 measly points after scoring 54 last week?
What's wrong with this picture?
Denver came to Kansas City as the highest scoring offence in the league and the Chiefs stopped them. After they left here it was like they fell from graces and they have not been the same. Buffalo started this season very hot and they a dead stop until they hit Kansas City. When they got here they played like they did at the start of the season. Can you say they only reason they played that good is because they were in KC? No I don't think so. That is why we play each game is because you never know what is going to happen in any game. I noticed that someone thinks that you can prepare for every injury which he is wrong. If you know anything about football then you know that there are only so many players on each team. Just like KC's quarterbacks the season. They didn't have enough at the start of the season for all the injuries that we have had and there is no NFL team that has enough players for all the injuries that the Chiefs have had. If the Chiefs had not had all of the injuries then I would be asking for Herm's head on a platter. But how do you judge a team with all of these injuries?

Injuries are part of the game. That means you should plan for them accordingly. The Patriots lost arguably the best player in the NFL and are now startign a guy who hadn't started a game since High School. Incase YOU don't follow football, the Pats are right in the middle of the playoff hunt. Probably because they have a GM who is capable of spotting talent and a coaching staff capable of developing it. Wouldn't it be nice if we had even just one of those here in KC!!!
Also, if the Chefs played the 9ers. San Francisco would roll them up by 21.

The 49ers did a better job then the chiefs did and held them just to 3 points
1) Points aren't all on a defense (Special teams w/ field position and keeping the other teams special team from scoring, Offense controls the ball and doesn't give it away). 2) The Chiefs had backups to backups playing on defense and SF has few injuries.
3) SF didn't turn the ball over 5 times like the Chiefs did (2 Ints one returned for TD and 4 fumbles three lost not defenses fault), nor did SF special teams suck like the Chiefs did.
4) Chiefs held Buffalo to 28% on third down conversion, SF allowed Buffalo 46% conversion rate. Marshawn ran all over the 49ers 16-134 ironically no TDs and the Chiefs held him to 79 yards on 20 carries but allowed a TD.
5) Buffalo had 13 drives against the Chiefs, 5 because of turnovers. Buffalo had 10 drives against the 49ers, only 1 because of a turnover yet Chiefs only allowed 94 more yards than SF did. That's 3 extra drives for 94 more yards.
6) Buffalo made all of their FGs against KC, they missed two of three against SF.
While allowing 3 pts is a lot less than 54. The actual defensive play isn't all that different than SF's, yet we didn't have half our starters much less their backups.
San Francisco may be struggling but they have NFL talent in the starting lineup. Almost half of the KC defense was unemployed a month ago. They did not make the cut with other teams in training camp, but in KC they are starters.
Gunther had his day, but it is over. He should have left after the 2 year head coaching experiment. THAT was the 2 years when this whole thing started to slide.
KC made terrible draft choices, free agent moves (signing the wrong players, letting go of good ones who should still be here like Tait).
Carl decided at that time that his job was so safe he didn't have to win to keep it. After all, Lamar was getting older and Carl was going to be the transition man as Clark took over.
Carl promoted Gunther rather than bring in a legitimate coach who would demand some control over player personnel decisions. Carl of course could not deal with that.
King Carl had the choice of giving some control to the new coach so the team could win, or keeping all of the control even if it meant losing seasons. We know what he decided to do.
And to maximize profits, making himself look good, he stuck it to the fans even more with higher prices.
Carl, step down as GM please. Keep the other 3 or 4 titles and run the business side. But let Clark bring in his own GM. And let that GM pick his own coaches. That is the only way this team will ever get back on track with the rest of the league.
No, actually, the reason why they're all starters (since you obviously haven't been paying attention) is because we've had injury after injury on defense this year. Injuries to starters, then to the backups.
And THAT'S the only reason why they're playing in KC, not because we, I don't know, thought it'd be funny to pull guys off the streets and let them start.
Yeah, that's it: Carl, Herm, and Gunther thought it'd be funny. They want to see how much they can torment the fans, so they thought they'd just bring in a bunch of backups and bench the starters.

Every team has injuries. Surtain shouldn't be here. His injuries are no surprise. He's almost 40.
There should have been depth on the roster and on the practice squad to fill in when the starters got hurt.
They didn't do this as a joke. They didn't think it would be funny. They failed to put together a roster with decent depth because they don't know how. And now their only move is to pluck guys off the unemployment line.

I agree Carl needs to go, long overdue IMO...but to say that Gunther is the start of the slide after his gig as Head Coach, is idiotic , or do you not remember that he is the only coach for KC that has EVER had a winning season his 1st year as HC. Also does your slide include all of Vermeil's high flying offenses....I place the blame on the front office AND coaches for not rebuilding along the way,poor draft choices, and signing ridiculous players for ludicrous money. Is Gunther to blame for some of the defensive woes, yes, but it is not squarely on him, because of injuries, but if you think you can do better with the talent they have had to field..have at it
Gunther wasn't going to get a head coaching job anywhere else. Defensive Coordinator? Sure. Carl put Gunther into a position he couldn't handle. Why?
Because Gunther is a loyal soldier who would just say "yes, sir" when Carl made all the decisions.
He might be a decent DC with better players. I agree with you. What is really idiotic is that Carl would rather win a negotiation that sign a 1st round draft choice (Tait, Albert, Dorsey). He's almost as bad as Al Davis. "Power, power, power, me, me, me. I win. You lose." He is a black cloud over this city and he needs to go.
Gunther was just his stool pigeon, which is too bad. Gunther deserved better and so does this city.
The Vermiel years were great. We didn't win playoff game though. Lots of fun, no trophy. The defense couldn't stop anyone. Who drafted Ryan Sims, Eddie Freeman, Eric Downing? Who brought in Carlton Gray to sit on the bench (that guy got a TON of money for nothing). Who hired Robinson to be the DC?
