Don't discount the possibility the Chiefs could go back to Tyler Thigpen for next week's game against the Panthers in Charlotte. That's their final game before Brodie Croyle returns as the starting QB for the Oct. 19 game against Tennessee at Arrowhead Stadium.
More than likely, though, Thigpen is finished as a starter, at least for now. The Chiefs made the only decision they could realistically make in benching Thigpen. He's far too erratic for the Chiefs to win a game with him at quarterback.
But he has some ability and the Chiefs might not want to discard him just yet. It will, though, take a lot of refinement before he's ready to be a quality NFL player.

I don't think Croyle will last past this season. No one can play the professional game if he can't stay healthy. But we'll get through this, Chiefs fans. No matter how bad this season gets, focus on two words...First Pick. Tim Tebow, anyone?
