Herm Edwards said the Chiefs haven't decided whether Tyler Thigpen or Damon Huard will start at quarterback Sunday against Denver at Arrowhead Stadium. It won't be Brodie Croyle, who most likely won't play until Oct. 19, when the Chiefs play Tennessee at Arrowhead.
Reading between the lines of what Edwards had to say, I expect the Chiefs to go back to Huard. I'll have his comments in Tuesday's Kansas City Star.
I'm not exactly sure what the long term plan for this team is. The short term plan appears to be directed towards the draft. I really like a lot of the players that we've brought in but I don't see this youth movement translating into a Superbowl team under the supervision of Herm Edwards. It's obvious that the man can't manage a game.
If I have to watch Thigpin step on the field I promise I will turn off my TV. I can not believe that the issue should even be debated. Hell throw in Ingle Martin, I would rather get a look at him than see either of these guys on the field anymore. I can not even explain what the feeling is that I have right now as I read this announcement. No I get it: For the first time ever, I do not look forward to watching a Chiefs game. If I heard that arrowhead stadium was blown up (and there were zero casualties of course) I would cheer. Its sickening...can you imagine that possible score? 70 something to ten? I don't know, after this last loss I expected something, anything that resembled a call to action...but nope instead it is continue on the same track. I am rambling but it is all I can do. I want to slit my metaphorical football fan wrists.

There's no talk of letting the man go?? As a displaced Chiefs fan I'm embarrassed when the man gets behind a mic. LJ carries the ball more in one season than any played in NFL history and the man says he’s not conservative or predictable? He tells us Tyler’s going to start against Atlanta but Damon will play…did I miss that series? At 9-7 we weren’t lucky to be in the playoffs? Who did he think would buy that load of crap? The team has been in a downward spiral since he became the head coach. I’ve defended Carl Peterson for years but now I think it’s time to clean house. I forked out the $$$ for the NFL Sunday Ticket expecting…no HOPING to see a young and exciting team. I was prepared for the mistakes of youth. I wasn’t prepared to see yet another season of complete mismanagement. Herm, when you’re fired maybe someone will greet you outside Arrowhead with a sloppy hand made sign that says “Welcome to the unemployment line!”

This guy has a great arm, but he couldn't hit the side of a barn. If Damon can't play then act quickly and buy some retiree. It's most likely a losing proposition with Herm Edwards on the sideline but it's a forfeit with Tyler Thigpen at the realm.
