Brodie Croyle didn't practice today, but he did attend and didn't have his right arm in a sling. Croyle won't play Sunday against Oakland at Arrowhead Stadium and the Chiefs expect him to miss at least one additional game.

"He’s getting better," coach Herm Edwards said. "That’s a good sign. We won’t rush him. You can’t rush those guys in that situation. You never rush them. You make sure they’re right when they come back."

Edwards repeated that Croyle would start whenever he's ready to play and that he would be the starter for the remainder of the season.

"He needs to play as many games as he can play and then you make your evaluation," he said. "Hopefully when he gets well, he can stay healthy and win games and then it all works out. That’s what we anticipate. That’s what we’re hoping for.
"If he can do that, all of the parts of the puzzle are being put together. We’ve got all this youth at a lot of positions. If the quarterback is youthful, too, and that works out, then you’re really doing good."
