Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said he has been told by NFL officials that safety Bernard Pollard will not be fined for his low tackle attempt on Tom Brady that ended the New England quarterback's season. Brady left the Patriots' 17-10 win over the Chiefs in the first quarter with a knee injury after being hit by Pollard.
"It was a legal hit," Edwards said. "He was actually getting pulled, so he will not be getting fined. They've told me that."
The NFL rule states that a hit to the knees is not a foul if the defender is blocked into the player and has no opportunity to avoid the contact.
Pollard was on the ground and lunged for Brady. As he did, he was hit by New England running back Sammy Morris.

Where does the NFL and anyone else who watched the tape of the play think Pollard would have ended up if Morris hadn't tried to block him a second time?
Pollard lunged at Brady's knees or ankles.
Is the excuse that if Morris hadn't been near him he would have missed Brady? or that somehow he would have levitated up to the point where his hit would have been legal?
And for everyone who says - well Wilfork did the same thing. I say - "Exactly!" and he was both penalized and fined.
