Cornerback Rashad Barksdale is going from being waived by the Chiefs to the practice squad of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
Barksdale, released in the Chiefs' final cutdown, signed with New York on Monday. He played in six games last season for Kansas City and was inactive for the other 10 games. Because he was on the active for fewer than nine games, Barksdale was eligibile for any team's practice squad.
Barksdale was a sixth-round pick by Philadelphia in 2007 and was claimed by the Chiefs after the Eagles released him.
Barksdale played college football at the University at Albany, where the Giants have held training camp since 1996.
