I'll have a story in Monday's Kansas City Star detailing the kicking battle between Nick Novak and rookie Connor Barth.
It's interesting that the Chiefs have been in camp for more than two weeks now and the competitors have yet to separate from one another. Barth has made 86 percent of his field goal attempts in practice, Novak 83.
The Chiefs, after last year's fiasco, would be ecstatic to make more than 80 percent this year.
The exhibition games should determine the winner. Barth made a 37-yarder to tie the score in Thursday's opener against the Bears. That was the only field goal the Chiefs attempted.
