RG Mike Goff moved to IR; Chiefs sign Rogers

Zach Thomas, just figured I'd help out since he was missed in the list.

This will take time, but we are making improvements. Look at the following:

1. OLine - Pioli/Haley has added Alleman, Ndukwe, and O'Callaghan who are young, with 3, 3, and 4 years experience. Each could develop into a real starter and each are at least solid backups. This can be improved via the draft.

2. Wide Receivers - Everyone is complaining about the merry-go-round of receivers that are going through KC. Would you rather it be the opposite? Would you rather have Pioli/Haley sit back with what we have? Pioli/Haley are working to improve our team. I'm glad we now have Chambers, Long, and Wade. That it took Engram, Lelie, Toomer and the others to get to these three shows that Pioli/Haley are constantly working to improve. They recognize we have weaknesses and are making personnel moves to improve the team. How many personnel changes did we during the last two seasons to acquire player? Not many. In the past, we started with a poor team and relegated ourselves to the position that "we'll work with the guys we have." That approach is better in the short term vis-a-vis improving on-the-field chemistry, but worse in the long term for overall team progress.

If I have one negative observation, it is that Pioli/Haley have been slow to make some decisions - the firing of Gailey, the signing of many players during the season versus before it, featuring Jamal Charles and his 5+ ypc. However, if you throw out timing (this is their first year together, which warrants additional circumspect for important decisions) they have been making the right moves. Well, right now they're 2 out of 3. Hopefully, Charles gets 15+ touches in the next game.

What do you expect with Bert and Ernie at the helm? I have come to expect moves like this from them...haven't you? Haven't we all? I mean really, isn't this type of move reserved for those who have no clue what they are doing?

Either of you two care to list all of the available Offensive Linemen?

Did either of you notice that Jovan Belcher, David Herron and Mike Vrabel are hurt and not practicing?

Kinda makes sense to pick up an LB now doesn't it.

Did you honestly expect Pioli and Haley to turn this team around in just a season? You appear upset that the Chiefs are not a contender after only eight games. Well, here's reality for you: This rebuilding process will take at least a couple years. Instead of being ”fedup“ with the new GM and coach, how about aiming your frustration and vitriol where it rightfully belongs: Carl Peterson. He — NOT Pioli and Haley, who are trying to clean up the disaster CP left behind — is the one who, through years and years of bad decisions (except for two brilliant first-round choices), created this mess. Peterson is the one who allowed the OL to all grow old at once, and neglected to slowly bring new linemen along to eventually replace Roaf, Shields, Waters and the others who comprised what was once the best line in the league. It all starts with the offensive line, and Peterson let ours deteriorate into the broken group of sad sacks it is today. (Frankly, Waters might as well retire, too.)

By the way, calling people ”idiots“ simply because they happen to disagree with you — and are willing to give the new regime a fair chance — is not going to endear you to anyone.

Again, this is not the fault of Pioli and Haley. You need talent to compete in NFL, my friend, and that's a commodity currently in very short supply at One Arrowhead Drive. If you truly do not understand that and how long it will take to make this team respectable again (and it will be eventually), then perhaps you should speak your insults into a mirror.

So or the sake of your blood pressure, might I suggest you take up a hobby other than football, and check back a year or two from now. If there is still no improvement, then I shall join you in your thoughts about Pioli and Haley (although I won't call people who disagree with me idiots). In the interim, sit back, take a deep breath, and repeat after me: It's only a game, it's only a game, it's only a game ...

Many of the fans here are too outraged with the last few years of the Chief's inability to play to see logic at this point.

Wow, a true football genius you are. I feel better having you out there with your expertise and knowledge. Are you a former head coach? Former GM perhaps? You sound like Obama still blaming Bush for everything. Just exactly when is it going to be Pioli's and Haley's team?

From the sound of things, you must actually be one of those qualified people on your list. Are you not? :)

I am neither a former coach or GM. I am just a fan who sat at many games in the old municipal stadium. I'm a fan who thought the days of Wiggins, Ganz and Cunningham were as bad as it could ever get. I am just a fan who has had enough and is FedUp. Pioli and Haley may turn around the Chiefs, I just have my doubts. I firmly believe that we could have done better. Anyone who doesn't is in for more years of the same old same old.

I agree we CAN do better, but at the time of Haley's hiring I'm not sure how many better HC prospects were available and WILLING to come to KC. I'm no where near sold on Haley but I'm not calling for his head...yet. For our town's sake and for my own sake I hope Haley gets it done. If not, we better not miss out on the likes of Cowher, etc if they become available and we pass them up.

Yes, we are wise. We have seen it all with the Chiefs. We have seen the days when it was expected to be on MNF, not hoped for, or maybe someday. We've seen great players making great plays. You go ahead and stick to your beliefs. I will too. We'll see, in the end, who is right. I'm not overly anxious to show you I'm right. I can, and will, give Pioli and Co., a couple of years. But, if what they are doing doesn't pass the smell test, I'll sure share my feelings, as you will I'm sure. Why in God's name do you think TG wanted out. He wanted to go to a team with playoff aspirations. He knew what it would be like and he couldn't afford to wait any longer. See ya in two years for the answer!

Haha, are you sure two people don't post on your account? I agree with you 100% if you say you're at least willing to give Pioli & Co time. That I can agree with. To me we haven't made much progress this season and it worries me. I've never said once Haley is the answer, just that we can't judge that he's a failure this early...although it sure isn't looking great.

At this point, even I can admit I don't want to have the patience to even wait two years to decide if Haley deserves to keep coaching. We'll see...
