The NFL will not add to Larry Johnson's punishment for making anti-gay remarks on his Twitter account or to reporters in the Chiefs locker room.
The Chiefs suspended Johnson for two weeks _ one week without pay _ for his remarks and criticisms of coach Todd Haley and released him on Monday.
According to NFL senior vice-president Greg Aiello, that was sufficient.
"The club took disciplinary action in this matter,and we determined it was appropriate," Aiello told The Star in an e-mail.

Sorry Randy, but just because you work with flaming liberals and might be one, it does not make it a fact that Larry was canned for making "anti-gay remarks". I am sure you 'guys' would love to take credit for that, but he was canned for a long list of trouble and for calling out his coach. Like he really got canned for remarks about homosexuals!That's rich Randy.
Not sorry to see him go at all, but Larry played us like a fiddle on this one. He wanted out, said the magic words, and got his wish. Now his childish ways will be rewarded with a sweet payday with another team. The NFL should take further action.
There are better running backs sitting at home with less mileage on them. I would rather pick up Shawn Alexander than LJ any day.

He has to clear waivers first (no team will pick up his current contract) and if he does sign with another team, it won't be for anything CLOSE the amount KC was stupid enough to offer him.
He has way too much baggage for many teams in the league, and others just don't need another RB - particularly one with this many miles and the potential headache.
He may get picked up by some RB starved team once he clears waivers, but if he doesn't produce immediately, he'll soon be cut there too, and that will be the end of this horrific butthole...so much talent, so unbelievably stupid.
